There we go! As you may have noticed, our mobile version has changed, and it’s much more in keeping with the times!
The old version was obsolete; with the constant development of mobiles, it was imperative that you could access a pretty version of your sites for mobiles.

Some of you already know about it, following our conversations in the support. We are working on a brand new mobile version which will be available very soon in your backoffices!
Our best people are working on it. We are very happy to officially announce the release of the new mobile version of WMaker this Wednesday, the 10th of December 2014 :)

The Android App for Your Back Office is Finally Available!
Dear Android mobile users, it took us some time, but here we are, with your help and your feedback from the beta version, we finally managed to publish your back office app on Google Play! We would like to thank you for this :)

Like with its big sister on the Apple store, you can now keep on updating your sites from your mobile device if you do not have access to a computer.

We're back at our HQ at CampusPlex following a crazy week in Dublin.

It's very impressive by its density and it's shape where each stand is just one meter wide and has one day to show off their company.
It is actually not one event, but three events since 95% of the stands are renewed every day for the three days of the websummit.
We had our stand on the second day, and it's honestly the best day!

All startups were grouped by themes: Social Summit, Marketing Summit, Builder's Summit (ours), Machine Summit, Green Summit... There were 3 to 4 summits per hall - and the halls are right in the middle of a lawn grazed by sheep wearing the WebSummit colours :)

The big bosses of WMakerGoodBarber and a part of the team will be in Dublin next week for Web summit, from the 3rd to the 7th of November. If you're participating in the event or are around, please do come see us! We'll be there in the Developers area which is located in the RDS Main Hall on Wednesday the 5th.

We would love meeting you there!

We are working on several different development projects for your favourite CMS for your website and webTV, and also for your native apps created with GB. We would be very happy to talk directly to you about them!

We have many surprises for you before the end of 2014 and a busy timeline that you can see with Marie-Julie in our video :)

Nofollow for Your Links
Google rules over the search engine rankings of our websites. They lay down the law and blacklist the content of anyone who doesn't follow their guidelines. The world of websites evolves very quickly and Google is the puppet master, they decide what can be done and what not.

Our job at WMaker is to to give the possibility to get a good organic page rank by giving you a few simple tools to gain the favour of It's Majesty, Google.

Many of you asked us in the support how to create a link in your articles using the attribute rel="nofollow" without having to code the entire paragraph in HTML.

What is the rel="nofollow" attribute, and why use it?
"Nofollow" provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines "Don't follow links on this page" or "Don't follow this specific link."

What is it made for? What does it have to do with Google?
Google clearly says on its platform:
"Any links intended to manipulate PageRank or a site's ranking in Google search results may be considered part of a link scheme and a violation of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. This includes any behavior that manipulates links to your site or outgoing links from your site."
In other words, they are saying that you should not try to improve your page rank, whether on purpose or not, by using link schemes. They take different kinds of links into account (see their note here).

Links which need nofollow are paid links (Advertorials or native advertising) because they can negatively impact a site's ranking in search results.

Luckily, Google also provides solutions :) On their platform, they advise the use of the nofollow attribute for paid links in order to prevent paid links from influencing search results (see their full article here).

As many of you have noticed, we finally updated the RTE!
We regularly received requests in the support to be able to easily create tables in your paragraphs or to be able to write in full screen. Now your wishes have come true :)

In this article, we'll be having a look at these changes.

For those of you who are not familiar with this feature, to describe it simply, you can publish an article on the CMS by email, without the need to log in to the back office. To do this, you just need to authorize the emails of the concerned persons and then give them the destination email (depending on the sections in which those persons wish to publish their articles).

We had a spam problem that forced us to shut this feature down. Since then, Gillian securitized the process and it is now back and working again on the platform!

Here is a little reminder on how it works:
The first thing you need to do is to authorize the emails allowed to submit articles from the menu Management > Editorial staff > Other publications, and then select the status of the received articles (Pending, published or submitted articles).

About the format of the email: the object of the mail will be the title, if there is a picture attached, it will be shown in the article. The body of the mail will be the only paragraph of the article.

Of course, you can edit the article from your back office once it has arrived.

Between the back office apps (Apple and Android), the editorial team, the management platform, and now the submission by email, there are no more excuses not to update your website regularly :)

New European Cookie Law
The Cookie Law is a piece of privacy legislation that requires websites to get consent from visitors to store or retrieve any information on a computer, smartphone or tablet. If you own a website, you will need to make sure it complies with the law, and this usually means making some changes. The main question is: How do I comply?

That's where our friend Fabrice Crozier steps in :) He found a service which will very easily enable you to install a widget on your websites. It makes consumers aware of how information about them is collected and used online and also asks for their consent.

Free, easy to use, and hosted on the service's servers (it doesn't make your pages heavier), this is exactly what you need: http://cookieassistant.com/
