Today, we launch a new video function. Thanks to this new function, you can create a WebTv on your portal. It has been just finished, we will make some corrections probably tomorrow.

How does it work, it's a page which list all published videos in the articles. The user can choose the view and sorts videos according different criteria (the most recent, the most seen..).

The reading of the videos is direct, not need to return in the article to read the video. It opens in ibox over your page as the page of xFruits. You also can, click on the title to reach the article.


I let you discover : WM videos. This function relates to only the portal offers. For the blog+ we will add a video module tomorrow.

We worked again our RSS feeds so that we can export the player at the same time as the text. This possibility is very appreciated by all readers which consult your site from RSS readers.You asked it to us and you are right !

By exporting your player, that enables you to create an interative link between the reader of RSS feed and your site, to broadcast publicity by example (comming...).

WM enables you to broadcast very simply your videos on mobile.
From now when you upload a video, we automatically create a mobile version available from de mobile version of your site, m.your-domain.com
The function is available if your video is lower than 30 Mo.
Then the video is re-encoded in the mobile video format, 3GP. This functionality is available on all the offers.

You can discover above the new WM player, it is pretty and 2.0 style. We wanted to keep an aspect very simple, to avoid charging the interface, for that we merge all new functions into the "Menu" button :

- Direct link towards the videos page.
- Possibility of exporting on a site distant by making a Copy/Paste of the Embed code.
- Your visitors can post a direct link of the video to a friend.
- RSS feed of your videos.
- A feed dedicated to iTunes (mp4) to watch videos on the TV via Apple TV.
- Display full screen.

Why integrate these functions to the player ?

Because it's more "clean", it permits to export these functions with the player and thus to maker them available on any site having published a video coming from your site (Embed). If you don't want to share your videos the export code won't be display. (coming functions)

We are going to spread out the launching of the various video function throughout this week. There were many questions in comments of the annoucement of the video update, we will anwser during this week in the notes introducing the new functionalities.

Mid-September we will launch some video functions of the V4, here is the list of these new functions :

1) Video gallery :
It's a new page which lists all the videos present in the articles with a navigation without recharging!

2) Video module :
It's an alternative of the video gallery but as a  module very adapted to the blog format. Intruders.tv will certainly adopting it!

3) Uploader Air :
It's an application (PC/Mac) which allows to send several videos. Thanks to Christian which has made a wonderful work with this application by using Air the last technology of Adobe.

4) Player video :
A new player equipped with new accessible functions in only one button to remain simple. In photo above.

5) The video on TV :
Publishing directly from your site on a TV via iTunes and AppleTv. It changes the user experiment! We will make a small demo :)

6) Video advertising agency :
It allows to integrate commercials in your video contents. The independance has no price ;-)

7) Statistics :
You will know precisely how are read your vidéos and how much looked them until the end…

8) Newsletter video :
Create a TV news magazines while capturing directly from your webcam. It's the modern version of the newsletter express.

9) Embed :
Export of the videos towards another blogs as a widget.

10) Notation :
All is in the title!

More generally, after an apparent dead point we are going to make an important update each middle of month without awaiting the official lauching of the V4 which will take place within 2 months. I will speak about it more in detail the next week.

Following the request of Vanina Delobelle (Monster - Dept Marketing), we added the multi-paragraph in blogs.

How does it work ?

The main module of your blog displays the first paragraph and the following are available in full page thanks to the link "Read more...". It's practical to display several pictures or video.

This video introduces the new functionalities of the menu "Modify" (Content area). You will see some tricks as to move an article from a rubric to another.

It's a performance to make you discover this menu in less 1min30 of screencast :)

We multiplied by 400 the storage capacities on WM since 2002 whitout any price increase ! As you can see it on the screen capture of our portal 5 years ago.

Today we are boosting the storage space of your site. Indeed, the new servers and the drop of the hard disk price allow us to multiply by 10 the disk space for the same price !

However it's not the same thing for the bandwitdh (transferered data) in fact its prices stagnate and can be duplicate for the video trafic. We decided, to go with future V4 video fonctions, to multiply by 2 the transfered data quota of each site without any additional cost.
