Many are users of the WM delayed publication. Personally, I use it often. On the occasion of writing this note, for example :)
We've just added some improvements to this function.

Up till now, you used this module to display your last tweets.
From now on, you can choose do display your last favorite tweets.
While browsing on Twitter, if you stumble upon some treasures and would like to share them with your site readers, this feature is for you.
All you need to do, is to select as content type : Favorites in the last Tweets modules.

When you add a photo in an article, a series of treatments are done. Among these treatments, there is the generation of thumbnails.
For each picture, there is a several versions that are created by the application. These versions are used in different parts of your site, to offer the best display to your visitors.
We've just added 4 new sizes. This brings to six the number of thumbnails available to configure your modules on the front office.

Do you know the tokens? Do you use them?
Tokens are fictitious words written in between brackets [ ]. They are used in modules which display content. This is a very convenient way to tell the application to display an information at a given location.
For example, let's say you want to display at the bottom of your articles the author and the date as follows:
The use of TOKEN began at the creation of Web TV offer . Their use is much more powerful than simple check boxes.
First of all, it lightens the pages of module settings. An input field is enough where you need several lines of check boxes, but mostly, Tokens give you an extreme flexibility in how you want to display information. You are free to compose your sentences as you see fit.
So we have deployed their utlisation in a lot of modules in the CMS.
New modules have been updated today to benefit from the use of tokens. This note is an opportunity to tell you which one.

Let's carry on with the series of novelties on headlines modules. Today, the zone of work is the large central column of your site.
We created the new module Modern 7 and we have improved performances and expanded the possibilities of the displays Modern 1 to Modern 6.

Using the framework javascript JQuery in the front office opens a new field of opportunities for the modules of your site.
Therefore, I have many things to show you on these modules that are very important for a successful home page. I'll split the presentation of those news in 2 notes. In that one, I will tell you about the four new modules reserved to the title area of the site.
Until now, you used the modules headlines in the central area. With these four there, you'll be able to add this module to the title area. If you opt for a module headlines in this area, it will not be displayed in the internal pages but only on the home page.
So there are four different types of presentations. Let's review them.

There we go! We have completely switched to theframework javascript JQuery.
For many years, we used Prototype. But over the time, JQuery has emerged as a more powerful framework, offering more elaborate display effects. JQuery also has a very active community of users. It's very motivating, and inspiring.
We were also driven by our most Geeks users to take the plunge.
JQuery was first used at the launch of the redesign of the back office V5, about a year ago.
Once the back office V5 completed, we have not waisted our time, we used JQuery very quickly in the front office. It was a very big job done by master Jim.
This "invisible" work will now pay off. I'll see you tomorrow for the presentation of new headline modules.

We offer three new sets of icons for Web Services 2.0 Module
We wanted to make icons smaller than the previous series. We noticed that is was a lot more trendier nowadays. Like the last update of the search module, this is the kind of little details that makes the difference between good and excellent design.
The first set is in color, the other 2 are black and white.

Last week, we were switching on our new file server architecture (NAS) for 2012.
The incident of October made us buy lots of material:
- 40 SEAGATE ES disks (Enterprise Class) guaranteed for 5 years and 1.2 million hours. 2 To each fo the NAS.
- 20 Intel SSD Drives 600 GB at 1000 € each, 5 year guarantee, in order to have an ultra fast pool.
- 2 HP servers used as NAS head with 16 core CPU, 16GB of RAM and dual 10Gb network interface.
- A P2000 24 drives HP bay with quad 10 Gb network interface.

Tuesday
We divided the 20 SSD between Sandy 1 (NAS 1) and Sandy 2 (NAS 2), they are 100x faster than hard-drives with trays. We changed all disks in Sandy 2 by 20 Seagate ES disks 2 To
Thursday
Thursday
We have put in production a pool of 10 disks on Sandy 1, we have earned an average of 30% in speed. We also launched the synchronizations of data on Sandy 2.
During the whole weekend we monitored the synchronization in order to check the transfer of data and prevent slowing down all sites. All should have been finished on Monday as Sandy 2 should have been put into production in the afternoon.
Sunday
But today, Sunday at 4:00 pm, 4 new Intel 600 Go SSD were simultaneously lost. The system can support a loss of two disks at a time but not 4. We had a back up J-1. We thought we could still use the snapshot made on Saturday but the data were not usable. For articles published after Friday, January 27 after 1.55pm, you will have to upload the photos and attachments again, however no worries on the videos.
In our misfortune we've had some luck because two disks were back working for a few minutes. We immediately made a snapshot of the data which allowed us to recover the differential data.
HP and Intel
We ave been very cautious since October, we have mobilized several people full time on this project. But we did not count on of HP and INTEL letting us down!
HP
HP took a month and a half to tell us it was normal to have a bandwith of 700 Mb/s while the technical document of the bay announces 1600 Mb/s. And I am not talking about the servers for which we took one month to find out a bug in the system energy savings that was rebooting the servers during the night. If HP wants information about it, we can help them out because their servers are in efficiency mode when the load is too low. What is outrageous is to buy 100 000 € of equipment and their support is worth of the one of a washing machine.
INTEL
We bought 20 disks at 1000 € / item at Intel. They post an alert on their disk saying that we must update their Fireware otherwise we risk a Bug. INTEL is (was) the best brand of SSD. OVH confirmed that they only use this brand for reasons of reliability. These disk are 30% more expensive by Go. Well, late yesterday afternoon, despite the supposed Fireware updated fixing the bug and the 5-year warranty, 3 discks have lost their data.
In conclusion:
I'm not trying to put the blame on HP and Intel, but honesltly, they are not second-tier manufacturers and they make us pay dearly for their brand. We've put on a very temporary WMaker Pool SSD that we are going to cut off as soon as the back up on the hard drive will be finished (end of day Monday).
Monday we will ask a quotation at NetApp which has the reputation of being the Rolls Royce of NAS. We will probably have go through them for our peace of mind.
This year is starting well + 1.6% VAT and minimum 60 000 € for 2 additional NetApp NAS ....
We will not give up, we have lots of great news to be published in February, we will carry on!
